Members of the Godric Cycling Club were involved in a variety of cycling events last weekend.

On Saturday morning five members (Steve Smith, Paul Seamons, Roger Keely, Peter Gosling and George Keely) successfully completed the Wiggle No Excuses Sportive (75 miles) at Huntingdon.

Club champion James Trenchard started his 2014 racing season and made an excellent start finishing fourth in the C.C. Breckland 10 mile time trial at Hingham with a time of 21:49 from a field of over 60 riders.

The sunday morning saw the club organised the Godric 50 mile Reliability Ride starting and finishing at Broome Village Hall. Riders could opt to cover the 50 mile route in 4, 3 1/2 or 3 hours and a total of 47 riders participated including 13 Godric members. The route took them to Harleston, Halesworth, Henham, Beccles, Haddiscoe and Loddon before returning to Broome, where welcome refreshments were provided.

It was great to see so many club members riding and also the many club members who assisted with the organisation of the event before, during and after. Over 25 club members were involved in event either riding or volunteering. Thanks to everyone involved the event was a great success and will be repeated in 2015.
