Sunday Club Ride

Godric CC Sunday Club Ride

We organize a weekly club ride where all are welcome.

We normally ride at a pace between 13mph and 15mph, but will always proceed at the pace of the slowest rider.

For most of the year we meet at 9:00am, though in winter months we meet at 9:30am to make avoiding icy roads easier.

What  should I bring with me?
It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, pump, multi tool, money (for cafe stops!), mobile phone, food and a drink.

What do I need to wear?
You need to wear clothing that is suitable for the conditions. We are not worried about people having the latest ‘kit’ or spending thousands we welcome the rider not what they are wearing!

If you are new to cycling and are not sure about what to wear or want some advice get in touch with us and we might be able to help. We all started as beginner riders.

Do I need to wear Club Kit?
You can wear whatever you like! If you want to wear your trade kit, club kit, or something that you’ve bought that is fine! Just make sure that you are going to be comfy and what you wear will be suitable for the conditions.

Do you ride if it is raining?
Yes! We ride in all weather. If the ride needs to be cancelled due to extreme weather (snow, ice) then we contact regular riders via telephone.

How long do you ride?
Our Sunday rides vary from 35-50 miles depending on the route and conditions.

Do you have a break?
Yes, we normally have a stop for a break at a cafe just after half way. Lots of our members are experts on the cafes of Suffolk and Norfolk!

What if I can’t keep up?
We don’t leave people behind and we make sure that we keep the group together. We average 13-15 mph on the main sunday ride.

Can I just turn up on the day?
Yes, we meet at the Bungay Buttercross at 9:00 in the summer and at 09:30 in the winter. Just make yourself to one of the members and let them know that you want to join the Godric Sunday Ride and you will be made welcome.

If you can let us know before the day by dropping us an email it us helpful as we can look out for you (and your bike) and also answer any questions you might have before the day!

I don’t have an expensive bike!
That doesn’t matter. As long as your bike roadworthy that is the most important thing. As a club we are here for cyclists and to ride not to rate bikes and kit!

We meet at the Buttercross in Bungay. See the map below for details.
